Stylish French Gilt Bronze Ladies Jewellery heavy gauge dome topped Casket of outstanding quality. Third quarter of the Nineteenth Century.
The main outer body superbly decorated in filigree style scrolling panel decoration on a blue enameled ground. The hinged lid opening to reveal a re-lined plush navy blue woven fabric interior.
Condition: Good condition for such an early item, the ormolu is entirely original, has darkened with age which gives nice patination. The inside has been professionally re-lined, beautifully done. Lock and key are present and working. No visible foundry mark. Few tiny losses to background enameling, back and front views are similar.
